The Craine Point Hammock Museum & Nature Trail is a tropical oasis of hardwood trees, nature trails and educational displays for adults and children.
A “hammock” means that the land is slightly elevated and this land was saved from development in 1976. As a result a visit to Craine Point will allow you to walk the trails, see the restored house of the family that lived on this land (the Adderley’s), take trolley tours of the gardens, walk a bridge over Florida Bay, visit a wild bird center, explore a touch tank, get a fish fedicure, visit a museum of natural history, and even has a wooden pirate ship for the kids to play in. I’m sure I’m missing things too!
DISTANCE: ~2 miles (4 minutes) from the house

FUN FACT: Craine Point Hammock is 63 acres of tropical hardwood hammock in the heart of Marathon and is the largest tropical hammock in the Middle Keys.
